The track, Bjork had a hit with (sorry I don't know), Miles davis Band, 1986(?) and Mike Stern on guitar.
That's my best shot.
Cheer's,

Doh!
I suppose being in the Robben discussion post group and not the Open discussion post group should give it away a little.
I have listened to all of the clip this time, and there is `Robbenesque' phrasing going on.
OK, I have to agree with Red with the guitarist. The guitar? Strat/Tele, I'm not sure.

This is clearly when Robben did his short tour with Miles in around 1986. I saw him at the show in downtown Detroit at the Ford Auditorium. Robben was playing a strat. I spoke to Robben after that show and he told me it was his last night with Miles. It made sense, because during the entire show, Miles kept bringing Robben up for more solos and he kept having him take one more, and yet another chorus. It was great! I had seen miles with both Mike Stern and John Scofield and neither got the attention Robben did that night.
As far as the tune, I have no idea (but it's still cool).
Kirk, BTW where is this recording from? |
