So among Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal State Long Beach, and Lancaster Performing Arts Center, it turns out that the latter is closest to my house by a few miles. So I'll be there, Tuesday night Sept. 27 for the Bluesbreakers/Eric Bibb tour with Robben.
I've been through Lancaster a bunch of times on my way out to the Eastern Sierras, Mt. Whitney, etc. But this may be the first time in my life I've actually stopped there and gotten out of the car. I'm really looking forward to it, especially as (and I'm embarrased to confess this, given that for many years he lived near here and used to appear regularly at a local seafood joint) I have never heard Mayall live and in person. Have a bunch of his albums, though. He used to have guys in his band with names like Clapton and McVie. Wonder what ever happened to them. Guess he had to wait 40 years to get a "Real Man" like RF in the band.

Valdee: Welcome aboard! Glad to see that the blues is alive and kicking out in the high desert. Nice website, too. I'll give you a call or send you a pm on this board once I get my schedule figured out.
The Lancaster Performing Arts Center has quite a concert line-up. I'll pass on Carrot Top, but Pat Metheny, Arlo Guthrie, Seal, The Bobs, Vince Gill, Riders in the Sky, et al., all very much worth going to hear. _________________ - BlueRunner
