Robben Ford Discussion

I had the pleasure of catching Robben Ford, along with John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers and Eric Bibb last Thursday night in Chico CA. It was the second night of the tour and it was an incredible show. This was the first time I have had the pleasure to see Robben Ford live, and I drove seven hours to catch the show. John Mayall and Eric Bibb sold CDs and DVDs in the lobby of the auditorium and signed autographs, They were both down to earth and pleasant to talk with. I was bummed that I wasn't going to get to meet Robben Ford because he wasn't selling anything, so I went and stood by the stage door, just hoping to get an opportunity to meet him. A very nice lady came out, saw me standing there with my Robben Ford sheet music, and after a brief discussion, very kindly walked inside and asked Mr. Ford to come out. When he did, not only did he sign the book for me, he stood around and talked with myself and another gentlemen for quite sometime. I can't tell you how thrilling it was to meet one of my musical inspirations and have him be as genuine and down to earth as Robben Ford was. If you get a chance to see this tour, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend it to anyone that is a fan of great blues.
