Just got back from Chicago......what can I say ????
Robben reminded everyone in attendance that he is the
top dog in the industry. No one can touch him as far as technical
precision and overall CLASS, when it comes to the blues.
My 7th time and I was floored by the band, they were on FIRE !!!
DON'T MAKE SENSE....was simply phenomenal. The place was packed...400+.
Hopefully Robben remembers he has a loyal following in Chicago,
and it won't take him a year to return next time. He had the whole crowd eating from his hand and he KNEW IT....so don't be a stranger !!!
Quite a few people came down from Wisconsin for this show. (hint, hint)
Luther's Blues is waiting for his return !!!!~ |

The Schaumburg gig was incredible. The first time I ever saw Robben play up close. It was funny when Robben apologized on stage to the Prairie Arts Center for not turning the amps down. I'm guessing that management must have asked the band to turn it down during sound check, but Robben had an all guitar band and turning down wasn't an option.
I hope Robben comes back more than once a year as well.
What made the evening really special was Robben and the band came out to chat with the audience after the performance. I mentioned how I study with Robben's instructional materials, and he was glad they are helpful. I asked if he would be sitting-in downtown in any of the clubs while in town, but they were heading straight back. |

Robben will ALMOST always come out to greet fans & sign autographs after his shows if he knows they are there. _________________ B C-ing U!

Seeing those pictures really brings back the magic of that evening. The Prairie Arts Center is a fine venue to experience live music. For one thing, the place commands a level of respect, and audiences there are less boisterous than that you might get in a club - a completely different vibe. One exception comes to mind, though, when Robben simply picked up the Tele for the first time, there were shouts all throughout. |
