I borrowed a new Vox AC 15 CC last night for a gig (with the Elvis band I work with). My 72 Pro Reverb was acting up and I did not want to take a chance it would go down during Polk Salad Annie (hate it when that happens). So I cranked up the Vox - 1-12 (regular speaker not the blue celestion) and it worked pretty well. Nice little amp from what I could tell over the bass rig next to me. Anyone else using or tried these? I know they are hot over in twang land among the tele pickers.

What really impressed me was the rig the guitarist used in the next band. Malford Milligan from Austin closed the night - he was the singer in Storyville from a few years ago - and his guitarist was using a Bogner Shiva 1-12 combo (closed back) which sounded amazing. Very impressed with this amp (for around $3000 I guess I should be impressed). Used a strat and he had a very nice variety of tones and punch. The band was really good, too - Malford has an incredible voice - check them out of you can.

Hi telefunk,

I saw Malford Milligan last summer in Kalamazoo. They sounded great!

Very "big" band is right! If you see them you will know what we are talking about. And they are just the nicest guys, too. They have a new CD coming out soon.

One song that really perked my ears up was a great verison of Freddie King's "Palace of the King." Very funky and unique arrangement. Good stuff.
