What's the secret to getting a seat at Yoshi's? I always get there super early and still get lousy seats. Seems that the folks that eat there, get to tag there chairs, and walk right in after eating. I've been do disappointed too many times to go see a show there again. Good luck. |

I don't know myself. The first time I went. our waitress asked if we were seeing the show and then got seats for us. We were right up front on the stage. It's never happened since, we've always stood in line for seats. |

Yoshi's policy has always been that as soon as the band is done with sound check, they allow what ever patrons are there to enter the room and tag their own seats before closing the room till "doors" at 7.
FYI, our soundchecks are scheduled to start at 5, if that helps (except for Sunday when we do early 2-3:30 and 8-9:30 shows). _________________ B C-ing U!

Thank you both for your answers. I really appreciate it. Now, one more question: Are there really $5.00 tickets? If so, what night and when? (I guess that's really 2 questions.) |

That's the Sunday matinee with children. If you bring a child, the child is $5.00 and the adult is $15.00. So the two of you get in for $20.00 as apposed to $22.00 each for a regular ticket. If you have kids it's great. My friend and I took our kids to the last Yoshi's run. My friend's daughter is nine and just learning to play the guitar. After the show Robben came out, signed autographs, and gave her a pick.
I have tickets for the Thursday 10:00 pm show. My friends and I have a theory that generally the 10:00 pm shows are better at Yoshi's as the crowd is a bit different and artists looser. Anyone else have an opinion on this theory?

Thank you for the information, Pablo. I'm not sure about the 8:00 show vs. the 10:00 show, but it makes sense. That's so cool that your friend's child got a pick from Robben! Have fun at the show! |

Can't wait ... so I bought the last two tickets to the 8:00 show tonight. If not sold out, Yoshis (Robben) invites those that want to stay a pass to enjoy the late show as well. If possible, I'm doing both.
The best to you! |

My wife and I are lucky enough to be able to attend 3 Yoshi's shows this run.
I have see Robben there many many times. The seat deal as I learned it is as follows. If you attend the early show get in line early and hope for the best....kind'a sucks.
Make a dinner reservation and go to the late show. The server will ask if you are going to the show and the staff will reserve a seat for you before they let the people lined up outside in...much better.
As you can tell I also prefer the late shows. While you don't have a chance at the free second show pass the late shows just seems to have a more laid back relaxed feel. My expirence with that pass has been that it is not available most weekend gigs anyways, as the shows draw really well. Only got the double play once for a Jing Chi show on an absolutly miserable night during one of our killer winter storms. It was so bad out I almost did not go because I was not sure they would play due to all the power failures in the area. I did go though and had great time as the second show was recorded for the live Jing Chi album.
Can't wait to see Robben and the band and I guess according to Daved..a special guest.
