Derek is using his usual super 6's out here with ABB.
Fortunately none of the gear that travels with ABB was affected by the stealing of his DTB equipment trailer last March.

The Derek Trucks band has been opening several of the ABB dates (along with O'teil's band, the Peacemakers).

One of Derek's Super Reverb's with DTB is one of his originals that was finally recovered.
They found some of his gear thrown away in an industrial garbage dump... the B-3 and Leslie cab were found laying face down with about $3,000 worth of elemental damage from the rain and mud. They've only found one of his vintage Super-Reverbs but managed to get it repaired well enough to use it in his band (If you see the DTB perform, it's the one with the brown stained grill cloth).

None of the percussion & drum equipment has turned up yet.

BTW, Derek has been touring all over Europe with Eric Clapton and he tells me very excitedly that they will be closing a tour leg at Red Square in Moscow sometime soon.

He will be completing this ABB leg with us, and then 2/3 of the next tour leg, before having to commit over to the rest of Eric's world tour for the rest of this year.
And, no, I will not be going with him on that tour, enjoyable as it would probably be. I'm sure he has plenty of assistance from Bobby (his DTB tech) and the EC crew.

I will have my hands full with GA&F and Robben's schedules, which should keep me plenty busy well into spring of next year.

Will Jack Pearson be filling in for Derek at the ABB shows he can't make?

I haven't heard yet who Derek's standin will be, but it's probably a good bet that it will be Jack, if he is available.

Daved,

I was at the ABB show last night in Cleveland and saw you TCB, didn't want to bother you, you looked pretty busy. Anyway, I have a couple of questions -- with the rain, which must have lasted for about 90 minutes of the show -- it looked like alot of mist was blowing on stage, did the gear get pretty wet? We're they concerned about the amount of moisture on the equipment? Also, I'm wondering if you can give a bit of info on Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks gear, aside from the obvious - what type of stomp boxes are they using, how does Warren use the Soldano and Diaz heads through the single cabinet?? .... and any other tidbits you may want to share. I hope its not improper to ask about ABB on the RF board.
