OK, so maybe Aoelian or Bunnylover or another of you South SF Bay blues hounds can help me make a decision:
I'm up in the San Jose area the weekend after next on business, and need to figure out the best way to spend Saturday night. I've never been to either JJ's or Mojo Lounge. Slate and Sammy Varela are at the former, and Cathy Lemons and Johnny Ace are at the latter. Both are an easy drive from where I'm staying. Or maybe something else is going on in the area. Aoelian: Got work anywhere that night?
It's either a nice blues club with rockin' live music and generous bartenders, or watching "American Idol" on TV at the motel. Ya'all gotta' help me make a choice here.
Thanks! _________________ - BlueRunner |

Blue, I cannot bear the thought of you even thinking of watching American Idol, even as a last resort. Please, let me send you a check for $9.99 so you can rent a movie. Heck, even a B flick starring Carmen Electra has more merit, let alone entertainment value, than an American Idol episode. Trust me... |

Blue, not sure which weekend you're talking about, but if you haven't been to JJ's, it's worth a pillgrimage. Mojo Lounge is real old school and kind of just a neighborhood bar. JJ's has pictures of everyone from Chris Cain to Guitar Shorty on the walls. A real blues legend. _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

Aeolian: JJ's it is (mainly because it's pretty close to where I'll be staying), and tomorrow night, July 8. I'll post a full report when I get home. _________________ - BlueRunner |
