Robben Ford Discussion

Wow. Robben, Joe Bonamassa, AND Mike Landau. This is a sort of G3 right in my own back yard. So if you're a member of this BBS, and you're going to be at the Canyon Club in Agoura this Thursday evening August 3, wear a large straw hat with feathers in it so I'll know who you are. (Just kidding. I'll know exactly who you are. You'll be the guy or gal who -- when everyone else is getting photos of Robben from the guitar up -- will be taking close-up photos of his speaker cab.)

I don't think I'll be able to sleep between now and then. So I'll be easy to recognize. I'll be the guy with his head down in the mashed potatos on his plate, snoring through the whole show.

Enjoy the show, BRunner. Let us know if RF and JB jam together at all. It would be interesting to see how they interact.
I have just 1 cd of JB.. a live set with 'New Day Yesterday' on it. Pretty good rendition of a song I had forgotten.

If you've never seen Joe Bonamassa live, you're in for a treat! And, yes- Joe and Robben playing off of each other would be very interesting. Please remember your camcorder, Blue... Wink

Yeah Joe Bonamassa is great. Watched one of his shows in Paradiso Amsterdam recently (Roscoe was there and also Matt Schfield with his trio). It was really a power trio, great singing and playing.
Did you ever watched this video "Leo Fender tribute" where Joe played as a young guy together with Robben? I believe it was 1991.

Hey Blue, dont forget to give us a full detailed report on the show!!! about 10 years ago I lived out there in beautiful SoCal and I used to see shows like that one every week or two, I sure miss those days.
