Cool Just received a very, very cool birthday gift from my parents. Two tickets to hear B.B. King this coming Tuesday night at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara. For a guy who's 80, B.B. shows no sign of letting up on the tour schedule. (My folks, who are 81 and 80 themselves, are definitely NOT roaming around the country in a bus doing 300 gigs a year.) Has anyone been to any of King's concerts so far in his "80th Birthday Tour?" I last saw him about a year and a half ago, and wonder what might be new in the lineup. I'll post a full report later next week, after the concert.

Happy Birthday BlueRunner. B.B. King was in Tampa Bay a couple weeks ago, and I didn't go. My ears were still recovering from the Satriani blow out. Wink Here's a link to a review of the show, and a quote from The Man himself:

"The papers are going to kill me tomorrow. It'll be the end of my career," King joked. "'Ol' B.B. was good, but he talked all night.' "

I thought I'd read somewhere before this tour started, that it'll be BB's final tour. It's amazing how he just keeps going, and going, and....

I read it will be his final "European" tour.

I'll be seeing BB on August 8, can't wait. Roadwarrier is right, BB has decided not to go back to Europe next summer. Good news for the U.S. - we may see more of him at the summer festivals.

Smile Very Happy
