I was just woundering what amps he uses to record with. I seen him last fall in Santa Fe, NM and he was using two Fender Twins and running a Zendrive-wah-volume pedal in front. Great show, and killer tone. |

I don't think it matters what Robben plays through. He always sounds great.
HOWEVER, for at least 15 years, I believe Robben's preferred amp has been and still is the Dumble Overdrive Special.
This is a very rare amplifier, no longer in production. There may be as few as 250 Overdrive Specials in the world today. |

Click on the "All Access Pass" link at the top of this page to get to Daved's page. Among other things, you'll find details on the recording set up for Keep on Running.
If I recall correctly, it's mostly the Dumble, and sometimes a Super Reverb--either on its own or in conjunction with the Dumble. Lot's of great info on Daved's site.
Ah, wait, here we go:

So, Dumble or SR for rhythm tracks. One or two Dumbles (ah, be still my heart) for lead sounds. |

FTT, thanks for the reminder for the all access pass. It seems like Daved has actually done some work in there lately, along with his all time consuming super guitar tech for the stars job! |
