Back on the road with Allman Brothers Band for the next leg of the summer tour.
Jack Pearson is filling in for Warren Haynes while Warren is temporarily away dealing with some personal matters. Warren should be back with us by the end of this week.
During the break, Derek Trucks spent a few days in the studio in L.A. with Eric Clapton cutting some tracks for EC's next album.
Eric has asked young Derek to consider being part of his touring band next year.
I told Derek to consider taking me along as his tech if he goes and there is an open spot in the crew! _________________ B C-ing U!

Need any help carrying the strings? I'd quit my day job for a slot like that!

Whao!
Looking forward to hear that new EC disc with Derek and to see them on tour (incl Daved) soon. What a match. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Daved (and Derek too).
Derek's tone and sense of melody is out of this world. Never seen him live but the AB disc from the Beacon is great. Daved, any plans for AB to go to Europe? |

Sweet Emotions - Check out the CD/DVD package Sessions for Robert J. I agree - Back Home is so so - Me and Mr Johnson is a killer disc - "Sessions" was done right after Me and Mr Johnson. Similar but even better.
I have tickets to Eric Clapton (with derek trucks & doyle bramhall) in a couple of weeks. Concert of the year for me! Trucks is easily in my top 5 |

Great shots Johan!
What was the acoustic song? I've never seen Derek play an acoustic guitar live -- only electrics. _________________ Travelling by train of thought |

I think it was "Back Home".
The rest of the "acoustic set" only Eric played acoustic and Derek filled in on electric slide. |

Great photos! I especially like the one of Derek solo (drummer in the right background) with faint lighting from the front and the spotlight to his upper back left, one of the last 4 or 5 or so photos. Nice! |
