I saw Robben and his band in concert yesterday evening in L'Aquila, in a wonderful scenery (an ancient square surrounded by 99 fountains).
It's been the second time for me at a Robben Ford concert, the first as a leader (the other last year with Larry Carlton).
Three positive aspects:
- beautiful concert (with lesser jazzy and more bluesy and rockish sound, maybe due to the context, it was a blues festival), with good solos from Robben and Anastios and especially from Travis, a bass player that drives me crazy;
- Robben very patient and willing at the end of the concert when he has signed autographs to many fans;
- Robben has spoken in italian all the evening, a very appreciated respect for the country where he was playing and where he has many fans (thanks, Robben!);
and two negative:
- the concert has lasted just one hour and 15 minutes, plus other 5 minutes in the encore;
- Robben has strangely forbidden not only video filming but also photographs (last year no prohibition, I shot splendid photos of the concert of Robben and Larry).
Below, three photos: the only one I shot of the concert, without flash during the encore (Robben will forgive me...); Robben signing autographs and Robben's autograph.

Thank you man . Just stick with it , the longer i've seen Robben plays is 1hour 40 with the encore .
Now i won't make any comment about pics , i don't do photos.
But i know it distracts from really enjoying the music.
So see you _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=147748

you are right, and in fact I have a habit when I go to to concerts: I shoot photos only during the first song (rarely the first two) and then I put away the camera and enjoy the concert.
the wonderful city of L'Aquila has been destroyed by an earthquake last monday with nearly three hundred people dead
maybe some of them were at this concert
