|
|
Hi ---
I read on another forum -- that RF/LC were looking at or have been playing some gigs with a Dr. Z amp.
I just purchased a Dr. Z amp (Maz 38 Senior) and I love it -- I run it with my Fuchs ODS 50 -- and the blend of the 2 is just phenomenal --
Can anybody confirm or clarify this?
Thanks

Been up here before. Robben used a Z-best cab (2*12") once at a gig. He never used a Z amp. Strange to put Robben on the Z site since I only borrowed the cab for one gig. |

It is interesting how these rumors get started ----
by the way I returned my Dr. Z Maz 38 Senior --- got a 65 Fender BF DR to run with my Fuchs ODS 50.
Unbelievable --- how the rig sounds now.

Sheesh!
I'm a firm believer in the amp being as much an instrument as the guitar...
..and I wish I could afford a Dumble or Dr Z...
...but I play what I can afford (DG Stomp into pwr section of a peavey classic 30)...
...and if I don't sound as good as I'd like...
...the first places to make improvements are my hands, fingers and mindset.
(It's cheaper that way...;) )

DR --- sound is just to die for. I am in NJ -- Dropped it off at Dave's Sound so he can give it the once over (change the oil, rotate the tires etc) -- can't wait until I get it back.
My recommendation for anybody that is looking for BF sounding amp --- instead of spending a couple of grand on a clone or a BF sounding boutique amp -- go find the real deal and play one before you drop some coin on a new amp. They are out there and still are reasonably priced. |

I run my Z Script ES instereo w/ a old Fender "Evil Twin" -both clean with only the zendrive for dirt. To me the synergy is closer than even a Fuchs ODS for getting into RF land. AND it won't cost you 20 zillion $$ The key is the Zendrive. The box was actually designed FOR RF so he didn't have to fly his Dum's overseas. Also use good tubes. Get some good NOS Telefunkens if you can and you shall be Joyfull.javascript:emoticon('') _________________ Kerry Watts
