I just dont get it. I'm sure most of you have seen the add from Guitar Center. A relic down to the cig. burns and the neck with all the wear. I believe Eric put down the guitar cause it was just wearing out. At $20,000
there are a lot better guitars out there, let alone for $20,000 you could get a couple of Two Rock Amps, with maybe a Baker original the sky is the limit. I'd rather buy a couple of seats at his next concert and save a ton of dough. Now, if you were talking about buying Blackie as a collector and you could afford the original, I get that. Wheres BLOB or is that Waldo

Folks spend different amounts of money for different things. My older daughter finds all kinds of one-of-kind handbags in little shops in her home town of Venice, CA, and all of them have a ton more "cool" than one that says "Gucci" on it, at a lot less price. But then part of the price is the time and energy she puts into looking. If one wants to pay tens of thousands of dollars for the work that the folks at the Fender Custom Shop put into duplicating all of the nicks, scratches and burns on a famous guitar, that's OK too. But if you play a lot, maybe it's more fun to have your own nicks, scratches and burns. It all reminds me of the lyric's in David Wilcox's classic "Guitar Shopping." I.e., "These guitars all have their stories ... but by now, so do I." _________________ - BlueRunner
