Hey does anyone know about the upcoming gig in Dallas - it's listed as being on February 9th in "Lakewood" - we live in Lakewood and are thinking that it's at the old Lakewood Theater - but can't get anyone there to return calls or emails. Been waiting for a long time to see him and it'd really be cool to have him in our neighborhood! Also - how about the band line-up at this point - does anyone know?
Thanks |

See the 'Robben Date in the Plains' thread. There seems to be some uncertainty regarding this upcoming Tex- Okla jaunt. I sure someone will figure it out soon enough.

Houston and Dallas were canceled I speculate because Stephen Bruton canceled. The Show was originally going to be Robben and Stephen.
The other dates are rock solid. There is rumor an additional show might be added to the OKC date. |

I'm in Dallas as well and have been trying to track this date down since it was first announced. I finally got ahold of someone at Lakewood Theater and they told me Robben was not playing there the 9th. They didn't sound very sure about the whole situation though. I later called Austin and confirmed their date, found the Houston date listed on the Continental Club's website, found the Fayettville, AR club website where it said Robben was playing in Dallas at Lakewood Bar & Grill. I immediately went to their website which does not list the Feb calendar. So I called the place and spoke to the manager. He didn't know if Robben was booked or not. He said he would call the booking agent for the club to confirm and get back with me. I have not heard anything to this date. I have gone to every website every day for each of Robben's dates on this short tour and still can't find out if he is coming or not. If not, I'm going to travel to one of the other cities, but don't want to if I don't have to. This is very frustrating! |

Well, I should have checked one more time before I replied. Just checked the Continental Club - Houston website and it has been updated and no longer shows Robben on the 10th. |

Check out www.bluesproject.org for more information on the OKC show. Go up the day before and catch BX3 www.BX3tour.com Billy Sheehan, Stu Hamm, and Jeff Berlin. Roscoe with Robben on the 7th. Might be worth the drive up a day early. |

Man, this has been confusing and frustrating. Bluejack - hope the Austin gigs come through.
I solved the problem, though, and bought tix to see Richard Thompson in Conroe, TX, in March. Happy 20th anniversary to me (and my wife - who would much rather see RT than RF anyway!). |

Thanks Jim. I will probably drive up to OKC to catch Robben if he isn't coming to Dallas. Are you close to sold out? I had tickets and drove up for the 2004 shows you had booked as well.
Its amazing how hard it is to see Robben if you don't live on the coast. I flew out to California and saw Robben with Larry Carlton in San Diego last October. Absolutely an amazing show. The best was going to one of Robben's clinics in Ojai a couple years ago. |

David, I remeber you. Yes been trying to do this for a long time. Hopefully if Robben sells well here it will get him to come this way more often.
The show is selling well. Every musician in town will be there. Of course the pawn shops are being flooded with guitars and amps so they can afford the tickets. I would get your tickets in advance.
We have 175 to sell. That first show I had 350 sold in advance in a larger room. |

Hey Telefunk, thanks for the good wishes. As of today both the Cactus' site and their ad in the Chronicle are both showing it as the show is going on. I'm extremely psyched to be able to see Robben in such an intimate setting, two nights in a row.
Enjoy Mr. Thompson yourself. One of my favs also. I was lucky enough to get in for his ACL taping, had a front stage table and actually made it in one of the audience pan shots.
Reports to follow,

Man was that worth the trip to Austin from Dallas! Extremely intimate gig with a great trio including Roscoe Beck and Brannon Temple including special guest artists - Eric Johnson and David Grissom. If I could only repeat that many times over! Too bad the Dallas gig and locations other than the coasts are not to be. Makes me want to catch a plane to California. |
