Robben Ford Discussion

Hi

I am 41 years old and live in England. I have always been more into the rock scene, Deep Purple, Whitesnake etc but always had a love of the blues side.

Although i played the bass in my teens and then stopped playing after three years i decided two years ago to learn electric guitar and bought myself a Strat.

Because i wanted to play more blues style my teacher said listen to SRV and people like Albert Collins, Albert King Etc. Stevie Ray blew my mind but last October my teacher played me a couple of tracks off Mystic Mile. I bought the CD and ever since i have been hooked and bought every CD he has produced since Talk to your Daughter.

Robben is a beautiful player who can turn to any style and to be honest he has turned my whole outlook on Music. The guy is a genius and when i listen to Robben's songs which is very often it lights up my life!

Can't wait for the next CD and hope to see him perform in the UK when he comes over.

Welcome swazer!

You have, probably, only just scrapped the surface of Robben's talent. He has been a prolific recording artist over the years, and I am sure you will find so much more great music. Prepare to be impressed........

Wait until you get to see him live, and experience the whole person. Such a straightfoward and honest musician. You really sense how much he loves to play, and connect with the music in him.

Welcome aboard. You are so right about Robben. Every note he plays is honest and meaningful. There are only a handful of players that fall into that category.
