May is looking like an endless smorgasbord of music !

This weekend is the Tampa Bay Blues Fest with Debbie Davies, Michael Burks, Sugar Ray & The Bluetones, Dave Mason, George Thorogood & the Destroyers, EG Kight, Watermelon Slim, Eric Lindell, Lil' Ed & the Blues Imperials, Koko Taylor, Dickey Betts, Walker Smith Group, Nora Jean Bruso, Guitar Shorty, Percy Sledge and Jerry Lee Lewis. I can't believe it's been a whole year since Robben played in Tampa Bay.

Next weekend is Tropical Heatwave in Ybor City with Adrienne Young and Little Sadie, Billy Bacon and the Forbidden Pigs, Dedringers, Doll Parts, Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers, Freddy Montes y Su Son, Geri X, Giddy-Up, Helicopter! , Girls on Film, Glossary, Infectious By Nature, James McMurtry, Live Dog, Military Junior, Mr. Specialist, Oteil and the Peacemakers, Paul Thorn Band, Pickford Sundries, Pink Lincolns, Plain Jane Automobile, Poetry 'n' Lotion, Rocket 88, Roppongi's Ace, The Dynamites, featuring Charles Walker, The Holmes Brothers, The Legendary JC's, The Postmarks, The Vodkanauts, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Unknown Hinson, Urbane Cowboys, Waitiki, Zac Harmon and His Midsouth Blues Review, and Zillionaire. With so many great bands, it's hard to decide which shows to see. I'll probably see 6 to 8 sets. I want to see Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue for sure. I haven't decided who else.

The weekend of the 18th, I'm going back to Fur Peace Ranch. Beside Jorma, the guest instructors are Bob Margolin, Patrick Sweany, Roy Book Binder and Marjorie Thompson. There will also be a concert featuring Bob Margolin and Pine Top Perkins !

And then it's Memorial Day Weekend ! School's out ! More music... more fun ! Razz
