What is the point you are trying to make with your post?
Are you trying to insult
1) Me?
2) forum?
3) Gene Baker?
RFs are selling for between 4K and 6k from dealers (if you can find them). With black Rfs in most demand.
Grow up. |

Hey Ronaldo is a Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad guy , bleeeeeech, but He is
FUNNY. And what do we need besides LOVE we need FUN. So LVC calm down a little , ask an emporium section in suggestions or go in introduction and apologize in advance for saling this thing or complain to the mighty thousands of moderators but don't get naughty, brrrrrrr, rude boy. 300 bucks that is a fair deal. Does Robben even played that one.

Sorry my brother --- it is not funny, especially when you are offering something that is a collectable. It is in bad form and taste do what this person did... and shows a total lack of respect for me as a member as well as other members of the Robben Ford Forum.
I have been a member of this forum for a while, I have attended Robben's Clinics... and if you want a Black RF that Robben played --- you can buy one here (same specs as mine -- spruce top)

If this black Baker is one of the best guitars in the galaxy, why is everyone selling them? _________________ "Don't play what's there, play what's not there" Miles Davis |

Where else did you see an original Gene Baker (no longer made) Black RF for sale? I looked. There are only two original Gene Baker Black RFs for sale in the world (that I know of). Robben's for $20K and mine for $5K.
This is not a guitar for everybody. Only 60 original RFs I believe were made and only a handful of black ones.
Can you provide some links to back up your claim sir that everyone is dumping their Black RFs? I would like to see who else is selling their original Gene Baker Black RFs.
Please do not make statements or claims you cannot back up.
I thought this was a forum for fans and musicians who appreciate RF"s music and gear (like me).... |

You know, I really don't think anyone is trying to be disrepectful to Robben , or Gene, or the forum, or you, LVC. I do think that some people are trying to have a little fun with you. That doesn't always come across well online. How about a cool - down period for everyone?

Just FYI, you did say "Hit me with your best offers." You kind of open yourself up to a lot there.
As for whether or not the $300 was a joke or a legitimate best offer, who can say? There are a lot of folks out there who couldn't part with $300 for any guitar, let alone $5,300.
While my "best offer" would be significantly more than $300, it would still be just a fraction of your asking price, so I won't even bother you with it.
Certainly a beautiful guitar--I've always thought that was a stunning look ever since first glimpsing the "Keep on Running" cover shot. I'd be interested to hear why you're selling yours?
In any case, it's pretty interesting to see that Robben is selling his personal copy. He's obviously been playing other instruments lately, but I sure thought that guitar sounded great in his hands.
I guess if I had a guitar sitting around that I wasn't playing, and that would bring enough cash to pay my mortgage for a year or two, I'd sell it too. |

I have three (3) to consider - an older Gibson ES 335 - brown mahogany, a Charvel, and a PRS Custom. |

Listen -- I posted in a forum I have been involved with for years. I posted for sale a guitar at exactly the same price I paid for it.
This is a serious guitar for a serious collector/player -- not your average Joe that haggles over a $300 Mexican Strat.
I would never make light or joke about someone's post -- especially when it comes to money (publicly). If I had an offer in mind or comment -- I would email or PM user on it -- never publicly in a clear effort to make light of situation or embarrass user. That is immature and childish. Yes in my post I said hit me with your best offers but by email -- even gave my email address.
I am really disappointed. It only takes a few abusers to really bring down the quality of a forum.
This use to be a good place to hang out.
Obviously I made a Mistake posting here.
Mr. Moderator -- can you please delete my thread?
thank you |

Hi LVC,
please do not get upset or dispondent. This is, and always has been a great place to hang out, particuarly when it is more active.
There are a few members who can be misinterpretated, with the message they wish to convey, and all in all, it is always light humoured where humour is intended.
I do believe if there is a serious buyer out there reading this thread, they will cut to the chase and contact you accordingly. There is the potential that this will happen here. Did you know our great member Bill Morgan (aka "old codger"), owns or at least did own the exact same spec guitar as the one in question! There are members here with the finance to be serious, so try reconsidering your request, and play the waiting game.
Good luck, and keep aboard.

Wow! No disrespect LVC. It was a joke. The Baker is obviously a beautiful guitar. That's why I said "Nice guitar".
Let's keep it light. |
