Well, you can't donwload the songs anyway can you ?
There are links to the CD on Amazon and Concord Records to buy it, but all you can do on that site is stream the files to listen to them (are they complete by the way ? Can't tell as I'm at work and the proxy will not allow such streaming...).

Cool Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders, etc. It's OK to pay money. It isn't as though Robben's a gazillionaire or something, and besides, if you actually pay money, Anne gets a couple of pennies for her part of "You're Gonna Need A Friend." And how cool is that?

Exactly, if you like Robben's music, then it's simple : support the artist and buy the CD.

Looks like those are full versions of the song. Even in streaming only that's already quite puzzling.

Cool download.com appears to be a legal and downloadable file-sharing site. As I understand it, these types of sites pay fees to the record labels, and make money back by selling ad links. (E.g., when you go to the page with "Truth," there's a link to Amazon to buy a hard copy of the CD.)

I take it that the music biz is a mishmash these days. E.g., do you tour in support of your new CD? Or to you promote a new CD in support of your tour? Do you authorize someone like download.com to put your stuff up to support your music publishing contracts? Or to get exposure for the songs so that folks will buy the CD's to give away as gifts?

Heck, I didn't even know that download.com existed until I read this thread. Why am I paying iTunes 99 cents for stuff I can get for free? And why am I actually buying CDs? Oh, yeah, so I can get the cool liner notes, which in the case of "Truth" are pretty interesting. E.g., while download.com tells you a bit about the CD, it doesn't tell you that Roger Kellaway did the horn arrangement for "Moonchild Blues" or that Robben has dedicated the CD to his mother Kathryn, to BB King, and to Anne. Gotta' get the CD itself to see that stuff.

Anyway, now I know. Thanks!

Download is very simple. You can find these songs in the Temporary Internet Files folder (Documents and Settings/Local Settings), after streaming.

But I will buy the "Truth" as well
