After months of lurking round this bboard, thought I'd better sign up and introduce myself...
31 y/o, Computer programmer (err... IT Manager) by profession and musician by night! Fortunately, I married a pro singer who I work with so doing gigs doesn't stuff up the relationship too much... as long as I keep the vocal faders up.
First heard Robben in 1998 - Talk to Your Daughter single on the radio. Something about the lyricism in his melodies and the sheer intensity of the solo in the song grabbed me and still sticks with me to this day. Have seem him live in Australia 3 or 4 times now, the first with Dave Sanbourn in the early 90's, then one the first Blue Line tours a year or so later. Last gig out here was probably 3 or 4 years ago now (unless I missed one).
Gear wise, I use an 89 StratPlus w/EMG's and GraphTech FAAS system (shweeet), a Soundworks custom Tele built here for me in Melbourne, and a 1984 Ibanex Artist semi acoustic which with it's small body bears a remarkable similarity to a Fender Esprit.... hmm... Also a KittyHawk all valve rack system.
Later!
