Robben Ford Discussion

Just wondering. My son said he sounded good, so I checked out his site. His guitar sounded good from what I heard so far.
I checked out Larry Carlton, who I've heard of from this board.
Only trouble was, he didn't have that soulfulness in his playing that Robben has so much of. Just a comment from a non guitarist....

I like Colin James a lot, his earlier recordings were more rock/blues based originals with the odd cover thrown in - Robert Johnson for example.

Hi later albums were still quite guitar intensive but a lot more RnB/Soul based (in the original sense, ie funky and powerful)

I bought his last album and I quite like it, but try SUDDEN STOP, or COLIN JAMES for more guitar oriented playing
