What is the point of having a 'tour dates' section of the website when it's not kept up-to-date? I've just found out, from a previous post, that Robben is doing at least one gig in the UK in May - but how are we supposed to find this out without checking the website of every single venue in the UK that he might possibly play at? I realise it's not Robben's responsibility to keep his own website updated, but surely it should be down to his management to keep on top of this? It's not rocket science to set up a 'keep me informed' submission on the site so we're updated by email when dates are announced. |

I feel your pain....
Seriously, this issue come up from time to time here and the consensus is that it does not seem to be a priority, for whatever reason. |

It seems that as a class musicians seem to have about the poorest websites imaginable... it's long been a pet peeve of mine. |

I saw some light in so here i come. The worst site ever , way over long to load , & loaded with bad pics , it looks like a vogue magazine for men.
Like u said it's the last place where you can find actualized tour dates.
Then the clip section might be more generous with the fan base...........................................................................................
Why not asking fans their best pics and let them upload, oh well there is so much good ideas to put on . _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=147748 |

Who needs a website when we've got this brilliant forum. That's how I found out about the May UK dates (got my ticket!!!). It's where I get all the background info, links, amp/guitar stuff, inspiration, humor, fantastic pics (yo, RoadWarrior!!), and Lord knows what else.
There is no finer Robben-related resource on the planet and though I appreciate the cosmetic and artistic qualities of RF's website, this is where I come for the good stuff.
'Nuff said.
Ya'all have a great weekend - I'm off to write another one of my awful tunes! |

Hi, all.
Dal (Robben's manager) wrote me today explaining that he has registered on this forum so he can address some of the management issues that affect the fans, but is having problems getting the board to accept his posts (a problem I, too, have been having recently and have just written the good Captain about) and asked that I post the following for him:
==========================
Daved,
I just registred for the forum and still cannot seem to reply to anything.
If you don't mind would you please post a reply for me to the people who are upset about tour dates being posted late.
Please let them know the following:
In the past we used to post dates as we got them in and verbally confirmed them, this was a problem for some because sometimes dates have to change or venues do not want it posted until a certain date among many other reasons.
We just try to keep the whole thing moving along and adjust to the situation.
So now we have a policy of not posting until we have a confirmed contract, this is to avoid people being upset because a posted date is no longer happening due to no fault of Robben.
This type of thiing happens a lot at this level.
There are times when even with a confirmed contract a date needs to move.
As we wait for contracted dates word gets out early and people react to it. This appears to make us look very slow and not concerned.
We only want to transfer confirmed information and do our best.
As for the person who was upset about the UK dates, we are very sorry but we would rather try to give correct information even if it appears a little slower than everyone would like to get it.
The UK and Denmark dates were all confirmed, received and forwarded to the web master the same day you wrote your concerns.
FYI:
We are in the planning stages of a European tour for October 10 -November 21 this is the date range but it is too early to post any thing as it will change up until a few weeks before the tour starts in some cases.
Dal
