Just checking travelocity.com, and the flights + hotel from Boston seem reasonably priced, but if anyone's interested, I'd be willing to have a roommate for Friday and/or Saturday nights to cut costs. I'm really considering this trip... |

Just KIDDING about the Chopped Liver !
I'm looking forward to Robben's return to the Tampa Bay Bluesfest. As usual, I'll be staying walking distance to Vinoy Park. It's my favorite weekend of the year and I don't miss a set. If JZ, or anyone else from the forum makes it to the festival, I'm sure we can plan a get-together at one of the local pubs along the waterfront. _________________ Travelling by train of thought |

Looks like Robben will be hitting Florida like a hurricane... Lake Worth, Cocoa, Orlando, and St. Pete ?!?!
I saw new dates for NY, MD, WI, MO & TN listed as well, on Pollstar.
I want to take the whole summer off and have some fun _________________ Travelling by train of thought |

Yes!!!
I got my tickets for the Annapolis. Md show already...and there weren't many left!!!
Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis is a small venue, much like the Blues Alley venue in D.C. where I last saw Robben.
It's gonna be great!

Billy Gibson, Nick Moss & the Flip Tops, Lucky Peterson, James Hunter, Robert Cray, (eat, sleep), Trombone Shorty, Tutu Jones, Tab Benoit, Walter Trout, Los Lonely Boys, (eat, sleep), Tad Robinson, Chris Cain, Janiva Magness, Rod Piazza, and finally, ....Robben Ford closed the festival with a great set of music:
How Deep in the Blues
Lateral Climb
Indianola
The Way You Treated Me
Riley B. King
Tired of Talkin'
Too Much
There'll Never Be Another You
Moonchild Blues
Lovin' Cup
Supernatural (encore)
Sunday's line up was a California Blues Showcase. Robben Ford followed Rod Piazza and I was amused by Rod Piazza's choice for the encore... Rockin' Robin (Robben!) I was happy to see Travis Carlton and Toss Panos on stage with Robben. It was the first time I've seen this trio play -- they sounded great! Earlier in the day, the Chris Cain band, including Terry Hanck on sax, played a high energy set (in the rain). Chris Cain joined Robben's trio on stage for one song (I think he was there for Tired of Talkin'). I love how the new songs sound live (in concert). A great show & a great weekend. _________________ Travelling by train of thought |
