I watched the VH1 Rock honors last night that I recorded last week of a big LIVE tribute to The Who and it was unbelievably great!!!!! Foo Fighters / incubus / pearl jam / flaming lips / Jack Black tenacious D all doing Who songs. Then Adam Sandler introduced The Who with a long tribute parody to “magic bus” with a guitar and fantastic words (youtube that one). The Who came out and did a few classics and rocked as hard as ever and I couldn’t stop from shedding a few tears.
I love The Who and was lucky to see them 2 times live and have worn out my record albums into CDs into DVDs of them. If you get a chance watch the re-run of VH1 Rock honors The Who it is very important.

Watched it to. A couple of times. Pearl Jam was very very good not that the others were bad they just nailed The Who. I had a friend come over to watch. His comment "When is the WHO no longer the WHO". With two of them now gone. At what point does a band that is missing half of its members no longer become that band? Ringo Starr & Paul McCartney the Beatles no. We had quite the disscusion.

Both times I saw them live was with John E. but they are still doing it right. I'm happy to see Pete and Roger do their thing with a great band.
Pete is playing better then ever and his kid helps a lot on rhythm and vocal, Ringo's kid is kicking ass on the drums so it all works for me. I think I got emotional because of all the loss to this band, but their still going strong and I hope it goes on for a long time.
Pearl Jam sure did pull off the vocal and that band is tight, Foo fighters starting out with "young man blues" sure got the party started.
