Robben Ford Discussion

[BlueRunner]

While I doubt that anyone's missed the BlueRunner, I've been hiding in the bushes for a couple of months due to a major career change. At the end of June I left my Ventura, California firm, and joined a firm in Sacramento, 400 miles north. I'm now splitting time between Sacramento and "home," racking up Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Points (and using Amtrak once in a while, too).

Some very cool things about Sacramento:

The Torch Club: One of those just-plain regular fun places (like JJ's in San Jose, Cozy's in Studio City, Patricks II in San Diego, etc.). So far I've enjoyed Volker Strifler, Lara Price, and lots of great locals. Nice folks, great music.

The Railroad Museum.

Living close to the office.

The American River Parkway.

And the River Cats (AAA minor league affiliate of the Oakland A's, who play in a great little ballpark just a 10-minute walk from the office).

Still spending some time in SoCal however, and I'll definitely be down for Robben's benefit concert in Ojai on 9/21. Many thanks to Anne and Ojai singer-sonwriter-promoter Rain Perry for putting together what I believe will be one heck of a show. Also, this coming weekend I'll be at least at Day Two of the Long Beach Blues Festival.

The BlueRunner's still running, too. If you live in the Sacramento area, look for me in the upcoming Buffalo Run 10-miler. I'll probably be coming by your house really early in the morning. Breathing heavily.
