Dave,
Larry Carlton using his new Bludotone Amp on his current tour. Do you know if Robben is considering adding a Bludotone to his rig? Any discussion going on about the possibility of this happening?
They sound great, and they're are cheaper than Dumbles to buy and get serviced.

No, discussion or consideration at all that I know of.
He has his 2 Dumble rigs and seems to be perfectly satisfied with them, feeling no need or desire to go with anything other than what has continually worked well and kept him happy for the last 15-20 years.
To paraphrase: if your sound ain't broke, why fix it? _________________ B C-ing U!

Maybe a good idea to use them live. Shipping $20.000 amps around the world must be expensive (insurance and all).
Insted of the Twins in Europe for example. |

I've seen him live in Varese, Italy; playing with those rental Twins... he sounded great; no need for Dumbles or any clones.
Larry Carlton's sound is more Dumble-dependent, IMHO.
I've seen Robben playing in a theater in California with the Ford band, and guess what amp he was using?
A Twin. And he was playing at home, so to speak. And no Samashta, only the telecaster. And he still sounded great! _________________ Pepe aka Lt. Kojak

I've seen him 8 times here in Europe, 3 times with the Dumbles.
I guess it depends on the venue or format if he want the Dumbles or SR/Twin. From what I understand he prefers the Dumbles but the insurance and shipping is so costly he won't bring them. |

I guess Robben will sound great with the PEAVEY BANDIT too but
I can lend him my rig in UK if he wants to. LOL.
Actually left rig (Bludo and D’lyte) are Woody’s amps and right one is my beauty.
But probably he’ll be happy with twins. _________________ www.customcabcom.com

Doc, you're supposed to care about other peoples' health and you just gave me a huge attack of 'need more amps' stress syndrome.
I corresponded with Alf Hermida some time ago and he sent me a You Tube link of Sonny Landreth using a Bludotone amp - oh my gosh....... |

Hi David,
Hope you are well my friend.
My amp collection is nothing compare with our captain Kirk’s collection.
Have a look!
And that’s just a few of them. _________________ www.customcabcom.com

MilliBombus, thanks so much for those great links. Both added to my YouTube download collection. And, makes me look that much more forward to seeing him play just days away... |

I had to leave this thread for a few days to see my therapist. He tells me I am suffering from 'tube envy'.
All those amps just got the better of me......life will never be the same..... |
