Hi guys. True to my user name I am a limited guitarist. It has been fun these last couple of weeks since seeing Robben jamming to "Moonchild Blues" on my MIM Tele. I've got the I-IV-V but unfortunately, I can't figure out the chords on the chorus. Lame, I know, but I'm lost. I can continue to jam with a C blues scale melodic lead over it, no problem, but I can't find the chords. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

It sounds like you have the Cm7/Cm6 and Fm7 and Fm6 thing, but the rest of the verse is Ab/Bb, Abmaj7/6, G+, Cm7, Cm6.

Then the chorus is Ab13, Fm7, G7, Cm7, A+5+9, Abmaj7/6, Gsus, G+5

I used commas above because of all the slash chords which made it hard to read when I used '/'.

This is from a chart Robben handed out himself at one of his clinics. Beautiful song!

Hope it helps.

Jim

Hello all. Just wanted to mention that Robben's Art of Blues Rhythm DVD took all the mystery out of the chord voicings for me. The DVD breaks it all down. Great tune, great instructional DVD. Thanks to you guys that helped me first learn this tune and thanks to Robben for the great DVDs.
