I recently got the new Ruthie Foster CD, The Truth According to Ruthie Foster. From the "Guitar Blues" show I saw last month, I was aware from Ruthie's comments that Robben was on it, but I figured that meant on a track or two. Turns out he's on all the tracks. As usual, a study in tasteful accompaniment, and there's a couple of very fine concise solos as well, such as on the track "Truth!" For those that haven't heard her, she is fantastic.

I saw Robben play with Ruthie last month in Michigan. I picked up her Truth CD and was thrilled to hear Robben ALL OVER the CD. What I love about Robben on this CD is that he is truly a side-man supporting what Ruthie is doing. He didn't steal the show. I think it is a wonderful CD and I really enjoyed and appreciated Robben's playing on it.
