Hi,
I've seen Robben is using an RV-3 when he plays overseas.
Did you know if he uses the pedal for reverb only, for delay only or both?
It is true that he plug it in front of the amp?

Tank you so much and sorry for my english
I remember reading something about it being used only as a method for connecting two amps, i.e. 1 guitar in, 2 outs into the amps.

-----------
1) The RV-3 is used primarily as a delay effect and splitter for 2 amps when Robben is not using his usual Dumble rig. When using a second amp with the Dumble setup (which is done to fatten the sound and provide reverb), I take a direct signal out of the TC 2290 (whose sole function is to provide delay) and feed that to the input of the other amp.
Usually the alternate amps desired are amps with built in reverb (Twin Reverbs, Super Reverbs, etc) in which case the RV-3 does not need to provide that effect.
However, if the amps used have no reverb, Robben will often use the RV-3 to provide it.
The primary reason I use the RV-3 over other pedals is that, at this time, it is the ONLY pedal that will, besides splitting a single signal into two signals, provide BOTH delay AND reverb when needed. There are no longer ANY pedals that will provide all 3 functions.
It's a shame that Boss discontinued it and that NO company has been making such a pedal for years now. Because of this, I have bought a few RV-3's thru e-bay and hold them as backup/replacements.
(The DD-3 can split the signal, but only provides delay in one of the 2 outputs... and no reverb.
The DD-6 & DD-7's have stereo outputs and provide delay but NOT reverb. Plus, there is no way to get a straight delay into the 2 amps without the obnoxious "pan" effect that it provides... stupid of them, in my opinion, not to give you the option of bypassing the "pan" effect if you so choose.
The RV-5 will split the signal and provide reverb, but NOT delay... which is the more important of the 2 effects for Robben. He can get by without reverb if necessary, but not without a touch of delay.)
BTW... I can, and have, used the RV-3 with the Dumble if there is a problem or situation preventing us from using the TC-2290.

2) As for the other half of your question... yes, the downstage pedals get routed back to the input of the RV-3 on top of the amps, where I take the 2 split output signals and run them directly into the 2 amp inputs.
