As above, does anybody know what guitar RF used on Truth's Moonchild Blues?

Sounds right to me. And do we know what pickups Gene Baker put in that guitar? I saw somewhere RF characterized the stock Schallers as "crap," so I'm guessing it ain't them.

could have been a whole host - - maybe Lindy Fralins or even Gibson PAFs.
In my opinion he would have used the coil tap on the bridge pickup for the most part

you can see moonchild blues being played on the live at New Morning DVD a few years ago in Paris (2001) and Robben is playing on the Fender Elite - I might be wrong but maybe the track was recorded around this time and added to the Truth CD due to legal problems with the earlier album that Moonchild Blues was supposed to be on.

If you look at the Truth CD - Moonchild Blues is not mixed by Dave Way (who mixed all the other tracks) which means it could have been recorded at an earlier time.

Thanks guys, that's great info. That track on Truth has become my tone target. To me it sounds like a nice vintage output bridge humbucker. I would assume a Dumble, do you think there is a pedal in there too? The overdrive is so creamy; no crinkley breakup.

And I'll be ordering the DVD tonight.
