Thought you might enjoy a review I wrote of one of Robben's finest recordings.

My favorite Robben, lead tones included. Did you know most of those lead sounds (The Hornet, Imperial Strut, Rush Hour) were probably a Yamaha G100 transistor amp? Go on Utube and you can see him using a 1-12" model on Monmouth College fight song and The Hornet from The Montreaux Jazz Festival. He would take the 2-12", cut out a 1-12" baffle and put an EV in there. The one at Montreaux was a 1-12" model. I have a 1-12" model and I can get those tones almost exactly out of mine with my Heritage 535 guitar.

Yup, I saw him with John Guerin with that amp out at pasquale's in Malibu. Sounded awesome.

I have a nice post on my blog of great guitar solos and Monmouth College Fight Song I think is Robben's finest momement (in that style).

I have just looked for the YouTube videos mentioned above, and apart from Rush Hour they don't seem to be there any more, having seen them already some time ago. Have I managed to miss them? Dave.
