Great song, great CD, great (live) band as well. I think I remember hearing that the strat was quite vintage and has been stolen.

I really enjoyed that! Caught them on the same tour. Great tones with the Strat too. Didn't know it's been stolen. Sorry to hear that.

Chris Chainey and Gary Novak just came from a tour with Alanis Morisette.

That was Robben's Tobacco Burst Strat. I only ever saw it a few rare times, mostly in the studio.

About 2 1/2 - 3 years ago, Robben contacted me asking if I Ihad seen it, as he could not find it. By that time I had not seen it in a few years.

I searched our storage with no success and even contacted his previous tech, Jeff, who told me the same thing that I had experienced... that the Tobacco Strat was a guitar that Robben always kept at home and only brought out when he was in the studio. Jeff, too, had only seen it a very few times and it had been many years since the last time.
Even the people at our storage facilities have no record of it or remember ever having seen it... and they maticulously catalogue all gear as it comes in and goes out of their place.

Apparently, Robben had taken it to a recording session in which I had not been involved as I was at the time on the road with Gregg Allman, and that was the last time he remembered seeing it.

All search since has proved fruitless.
If anyone stumbles acrossed it, or any info leading to it, I'm sure Robben and/or I would be delighted to hear from you.
