Hi Pierre!

back to your very informative reply in the other thread, which BTW, is much appreciated. Great to see you are still active on the board too.!

BTW that info will be so helpful to take with me when I try out a 30watt ODS with my 1x EVM12L boogie cab (half back) and Ernie Ball Steve Morse guitar.

Do you have a list of settings to get me in the ball park on the day of my demo please?

Valve wise, I have NOS 12AX7 Mullards, Telefunken, Mazda, Brimar, RTL, and RCA (I think), so I have a few good ones to try.

Davids clips sounded fantastic, I really would to try one of the Bludo beauties out, but I guess these are just too hard to get hold of. Strange to hear that it is a non HRM, as the tone is very Jing Chi era which is what the HRM sound is kind synonymous with.

Thanks again Pierre.

DD

No problem DD Smile

Actually the Jing Chi records were non HRM, even though it was speculated for some time that Robben's amp was HRM, it just wasn't.

It will be difficult if not impossible to try a Bludo in Europe, even more for an Ojai as there must be only a few ones built.
I remember reading on The Gear Page about some guy in the UK who got hold of a Bludo, just can't remember who it was.

As for the settings of the Fuchs, mine are set like that :
Input gain : between 11 and 12 o'clock
Bright switch : off
Bass switch : off
Rock/Jazz : Rock
High : around 11 o'clock
Mid : around 10 o'clock
Low : around 10 o'clock
Mid boost : off, sometimes used for solos, with single coil guitars
Gain boost (also known as PAB = preamp boost) : this will bypass the tone section, so High, Mid and Low pots have not effect when engaged. I use it sometimes, the problem is that on my Fuchs the second switch of the footswitch activates the mid boost, it would be better for me if that was the Gain Boost but it ain't, so I can't use it as much as I'd like.
Input ratio (OD channel) : between 11 and 12 o'clock
Output : between 9 and 10 o'clock
Master : without attenuationand/or cable in the loop, it will be difficult to go higher that 9 o'clock if it's used in a small room. Best is above 12 o'clock.
Accent : around 1 o'clock
Reverb : mine gest washy pretty quickly, so to remain usable I set it at 8 o'clock

Hope that will help Smile

I'll try to record a few things if I can, I don't have any soundcard at the moment so that might not be easy though.

Many thanks again Pierre!

That will give me something to go from on the day.

I forgot to ask the question in the last post; can you recomend a quality speaker cable?

Cheers,

DD

Evidence Audio Siren, ProCo Fatmax... I'm sure there are a few others which are quite good. I have two ProCo Excalibur (I think ?) myself, seems to be OK.

I forgot to mention that as I don't have the Gain Boost wired to the footswitch, I use an external boost (RC Booster) to supplement the function, it works fine, and in that case the tone controls are still active.
