Robben Ford Discussion

Learned yesterday that Robben Ford is playing at the Novato Art, Wine, and Music Festival next Saturday, 6/12... free... don't know what time he plays.

There's an event flyer on the Novato Chamber of Commerce website that's in PDF form, but it's crashing Acrobat when I try to view it...

I followed the link all the way to the posted flyer. It lists Robben as playing Sunday the 13th at 4:30pm - doesn't list the supporting band/players tho. I've got tics to see him the next night at Sierra Nevada in Chico, but it's Renegade Creation. So perhaps that's who's playing Sunday too.

Robben is playing with "Renegade Creation" at Grass Valley on Saturday night. Probably should check the "tour" link on this website 1st.

Turns out that the Napa show was also Renegade Creation, which I guess isn't too surprising given their current tour being in the general proximity...

Cool music -- I like how the songs sound live (via youtube), especially Destiny Over Me, makes me think about the Beatles. I think that's what they might sound like if they were all alive today, writing and touring together.

It's a great album. Ranks very high on the art-o-meter, meaning it doesn't get old after repetitive listening. The songs have open meaning, they can mean whatever you want them to mean, or have no literal meaning and be enjoyed as pure sound.
