Hi, I´m new to this forum and perhaps this question is answered elsewhere but I can´t seem to find a pleasing answer:

I wonder how Robben uses his volume pedal? Does he use it in the effectloop to control the overall volume from his amp or does he use it in front of the amp to control the amount of gain?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm almost certain the the volume pedal goes in front of the amp. I don't have picture of his setup, but I'm pretty sure that's where it goes along with the wah and whatever OD pedal he is using. I believe that all he has going through the loop (or dumbleator) is his delay.
Welcome again!
Frank

Agreed Frank.

In any of the images/vids I've seen the Volume is the first pedal, then Wah, (OD if required). Delay in the effects loop. If the Volume was into the effects loop, I would expect to see it after the pedals, not first.

Close, Red, but the chain starts at the other end :

Guitar > Zen Pedal > Wah > Voume > into the front of the amp

TC2290 Delay only is in the fx loop, with switching of it's 3 presets controlled by a pedal (usually a MidiMouse) on the floor.

Thanks D, and I suppose he controls the "mastervolume" if the volumepedal is after the zen?

But generally, if he´s using his Dumble he doesn´t use pedals for drive?

...And in that case; he won´t be able to control the VOLUME from the guitar, but the GAIN? (on drive channel)

I´ve seen some pictures on his Dumble btw; does he use the drive channel on his dumble with the boost engaged all the time or does he use the boost when needed, so to speak?

Thanks

Generally, Robben does not use any boost/overdrive pedals when using the Dumble as those functions are built into it with a selector switch on the floor.

Thanks but that was in fact the boost I was talking about. The boost in the dumble. Smile
