Amazing night at the Sellersville Theater roughly 12 hours ago. While I believe they are being advertised as a blues/rock group, that description comes-up quite short. The riffing comes from all over the radar. I could go on about all the superlatives, but you forum members already know these things. One thing I do feel compelled to point out though, and that is Robben's rhythm playing may be second to none. No disrepect to an A+++ band, but you could play just about anything over Robben's rhythm and it would probably sound good (same for Haslip's bass playing). But throw in the Renegades, and you'll probably wind-up like me. I had goosebumps about 15-20 seconds into the set. Got my money's worth by the end of the first song. I've seen a lot of bands since 1970 or so, and these guys are primo.
I was there too!!! Great show! Just a little worried as I thought the place was on fire!!!!! Turned out to be a curtain to close to something hot LOL!!!! It was great to talk to Jimmy, Gary and for a while Mike Landau. All really cool cats. Wish I could have spoke to Robben but he took off pretty quick. Great show all around, band was tight, leads were great and tone was happening although they all commented that it sounded a little weird on stage. I loved it. Glad I made this one. Thanks guys!!!!!
