Marc,

Have you listened to The Ford Blues Band's "In Memory of Mike Bloomfield?" They also have a tribute to Paul Butterfield, which is similar.

Art,

I've listened to both and they are very good.Ihave a compilation of Mkie Bloomfield and it's amazing.Work song, which the Ford Blues band cover on the tribute to Paul Butterfield,is amazing work by Bloomfield.I can see why RF is a fan.The Bloomfield version has a much harder edge than Rf would play it .I wish I could play half as good.

Melvin Taylor is awesome. Saw him play about 10 years ago at the Nice jazz festival in France. blew me away, overdriven sound, 3 piece band, 1 gig I'll never forget.
Do you know if there's any of his recent live stuff available. I bought an old studio album, and it was quite reserved by comparison.

I listen to a lot of local (Floridian and Southern-based) blues musicians, such as Sarasota Slim, Roy Bookbinder, Damon Fowler, and Delta Moon. I also went to see David Jacobs-Strain recently and his new cd is very good. My other favorites: John Mayall, Gary Moore, Peter Greene, John Hammond, Roy Buchanan, and Chris Cain.

I dig Jimmy Herring alot, Derek Trucks is blowin my mind of late. I'm into some of the bay area guys like Charlie Hunter and Will Bernard, funkier stuff. So many great players out there it's hard to list em all. I really like Jeff Becks latest direction, NYC's Dave Fuisynski too, HHB
