Hi Dr!

very nice playing, as usual! Very enjoyable.

As mentioned in a previous post, I have finaly saved enough to purchase one; that dam Ojai amp has just come along and seemingly raised the bar. Unfortuantely it is out of my price range.

As you seem to have just about owned and tried every Dumble style amp going, how does the Fuchs ods 30 rate?

All the best,

DD

Thanks for listening my friend.
I just love it, really great amp. Most important to chose speakers carefully. My favourites so far are EV 12L and Celestion G12-65, really big, fat but also crystal tone. Also Fane AXA 12 alnico or Jensen Jet Tornado are great for this amp.
Amp has lovely reverb built in so no need for external effects but it has tube buffered loop as well, so no problems with tone lose.
Great plug and play amp, very tweakeable and compact too.
Regards

Many thanks for the feedback Dr! In your opinion does it do the Dumble thing well? How does it differ to the Ojai amp?

Sorry for all the questions.

Cheers,

DD

Well,
Fuchs ODS30 is actually an all trick pony. It does Dumble tone in some extent but Ojai tweaked amps (mainly Bludos and I have now 100w Ceriatone OTS tweaked as well) are different. They are actually Robben’s amp copies: Bit higher voltage, brighter tone smoothed with high capacitance FX loop leads and TC 2290. Also it has more bass in the tone than Fuchs.
Before making a decision what to by you can come to my place and try moded OTS 50 watt skyliner – bluesmaster hybrid and 100 watt OTS Ojai.

Cheers
