Got mine ordered, too! Come on February...

Interesting that Robben chose to play on the Rhythm pickup for this. He's been playing more and more of his stuff on the lead pickup for a while. On the Tele he plays almost nothing but the bridge pickup - or least he was a couple of years ago.

No, I haven't heard any clips yet. It's an interesting choice of songs. Should be a great album.

When you mentioned the rhythm pickup I thought you might have heard some of it. I didn't see a list of songs either. Where'd you find that?

Here:

It was in the second page of the thread about Robben not gigging any more. Pierre posted it.

This interview talks about the new album as well:

I think it's a great interview, uncovering some fresh details, like the story of Robben's first guitar.

Could somebody explain what is a rhythm pickup?

Thanks, Frank! I was on Pierre's thread too but I must have missed the link.

Road Warrior,
That's the pickup closest to the neck of the guitar. It has a deeper, more bassy tone than the pickup closest to the bridge. The pickup closest to the bridge is often referred to as the lead pickup and has a brighter tone.

Yep, that should imply a change of style I guess.

Thanks for the explanation, Frank. I'm looking forward to hearing it!

I also noticed another new release for February being advertised on Amazon: Unplugged (Robben Ford and Larry Carlton). Maybe a DVD from their show at New Morning? I remember seeing a few video clips on youtube from that concert and remember reading about how great a show it was.

Time to go shopping... Very Happy

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this clip is from the Unplugged release coming in February:

I can't wait!
