I am always curious to hear what pedals and amps/cabinets others are using who are chasing a similar tone.

I use a Velvet Katana pedal thru either a Sebago DT-50 with a Hermidia Audio 2x12 or a Fender Vibroverb. My main guitar is a semi hollow Les Paul.

I have a couple of strats, but often find them too Fender-y to get the right sound on most stuff. The Brother sounds great on my strat though, but that is a touch different.

Anyway, hoping that some of the members are watching the site. I know there are more and more fans each year as the population ages (!) so perhaps added traffic would put the site from page three of a google search to page one!

Guess you will find a lot of Dumble oriented rigs there Smile
As far as I am concerned :
Amp + cab :
Fuchs ODS 50W SLX
Two Rock 2x12 cab with WGS ET65 speakers

Pedals :
Carl Martin Plexitone Single for Marshally tones
Fulltone Plimsoul OD
Mad Professor Simble (Dumble like... again)
Xotic RC Booster
Xotic EP Booster
Lovepedal COT50
Vemuram JanRay clone
Neunaber Wet Reverb
Arion Sch-Z chorus/vibe by EWS
TC Electronic Ditto looper
Fulltone Clyde Standard Wha

Guitars :
Greco SA-700 (1978), made in Japan ES335 clone
Greco FA67-70, made in Japan ES175 clone
Tokai LS98, made in Japan Les Paul clone
Hamer Artist Custom (USA)
MJT relic Telecaster, 1950's style
Fender Eric Johnson sunburst Strat

I switch from one to the other according to the mood...

I heard the Simble pedal demo on YouTube where he squares off with a Dumble. The cat can play, which doesn't hurt the demo, but that pedal appears to do an excellent job. Are you getting those kind of results with it? I am trying to justify it although the Katana does a stellar job.
I have a deal on the weekend where I have to play thru a board with no amp, so I built a pedalboard with a cab sim. I have been thinking about adding a Simble to that.
Sounds like you have a nice stash of gear!

The Simble is in the ballpark, when compared to the Fuchs. Obviously, there are differences, but you can feel that they are from the same breed.
Nice pedal indeed.

I don't know why I am so slow in deciding on pedals. I have made some poor choices in the past, but the Simble seems to have something.

I have a small box of pedals that I wish I never bought, but oddly enough some of them seem to have gathered some value and when I put them in eBay they went pretty fast.

Anyway, I think I better just drop the coin and see!

Well, sheepishly I say the Simble arrived over the weekend. I got wind that if I was going to get one I might as well get on board with the current "lot".
So....I plugged into my daily set up next to the Katana and basically shot back and forth for the past several days. Interesting.
They are similar but not the same. Simble cleans up quicker with the volume control. The Katana has a real sweet sustain. Both are good, but slightly different. I honestly am not able to say one is better.
I have put it on the pedalboard to play it out this weekend. I am going to have the pedalboard, thru my ADA speaker simulator into a 36 channel board. This is a tone challenge at the best of times as I am not allowed to run an amp for this.
So....I am not unhappy at all. I think this is going to be a great addition and like anything new, I have to get my head around it a little more yet.
