I've been messing with this arpeggio over the 1 chord of a blues progression.
So if you are in the key of G, you play B-7b5 arpeggio over that chord and get 3, 5, b7, 9 of the G7 chord.
Now move that shape up 1 full step to C# (Db) and you get b5, 13, 1, 3 of the G7 chord.
Now weave in and out of those arps, G blues and G mixo and all kinds of cool lines start to flow.
Now it gets really cool. When you hit the 5 chord (D7) play F#-7b5 and you get 3, 5, b7, 9 of the D7 chord - now move it up a tri-tone to C-7b5 and you get b7, b9, 3, b13 - some nice altered tensions. And finally resolve the C-7b5 down a half step to B-7b5 when you hit the one chord - sweet resolution!
You can also play that C-7b5 on the one chord too. It's a very outside sound but you are implying (V7 of I). So now over the G7 chord you can play:
B-7b - very inside mixo sounding
C#-7b5 - adding a b5 for more tension
C-7b5 - implying (alt V7 of I) very outside sounding
B-7b5 - killer resolution
Sorry for the delay in responding, but I've been woodshedding with your ideas here for a few days. Thanks for posting this. There seems to be no limit to the cool lines you can generate from these ideas. I just have to keep drilling it until it goes on auto pilot.
