I was delighted to hear he is inducted in Rock N Roll Hall of Fame this month....I remember seeing him at a small neighborhood hall in the mid sixties in Detroit when he was just starting out. The Detroit News has a nice commemoritive section this Sunday on Seger, with a great poster cover! He's given lots of great songs, and I'm happy for him. |

Well, my mama told me if I could not say anything nice... but what the hell. Watching Seger at the Hall ceremony reminded me how much I hated having to play his hits in cover bands. Gawd, I used to think his stuff was lame! Have not changed my mind, either. In fact most of the music on the VH1 Hall show this year was pretty boring. Browne and ZZ going through the motions. Traffic was OK in that Winwood and Capaldi acted like they were actually enjoying themselves. Prince was the only act that really sounded hot - damn, what a funky band! He even salvaged While My Guitar... with his solo, after the other guy just copied the record. |
