Murali's music has taken a different path from the music of his Dad. His set was all about straight ahead blues and soul and included a kickass cover of Marvin Gaye's " Sexual Healing ". His guitar playing was very, very good, but the thing that struck us was his powerful, soulful voice. Sounded to me at times like Otis redding or Sam Cooke. Pretty good stuff for a young white kid who can't be much more than 25. We enjoyed his set very much and would definitely check him out again

I've probably seen BB 6 times or so over the last 30 yrs and his performance is still as strong as ever. He moves a little slower and sits throughout his set now. He got noticeably stronger as his set progressed and his voice is as strong as ever. He spent more time interacting with the audience during songs than i remember, but we really enjoyed that part of the show. As always his band was wonderful. What can i say other than the man is a legend, who packed the Rochester Auditorium theatre at 78 years of age.

All in all a great show that we enjoyed very much. I'm also excited as we bought tix tonight for " The Rite of Strings " as part of the Rochester Jazz fest in June. This will be an all acoustic show featuring Al Dimeola, Stanley Clarke and Jean Luc Ponty. I'm looking forward to that show.

Elizabeth......Murali wore a dark grey expensive looking suit with a lighter grey silk, collarless shirt buttoned at the collar, no tie. Very sharp.

B.B. wore a tux with a grey velvet jacket, black pants and vest, white shirt and black bow tie. B.B. also looked very dapper.
