YES! Finally, a RF show in the Boston area!
I just checked the Regent Theater's website, but no mention of this show yet. Johnny A's site does mention it, however.
What a week it's been for me. Just yesterday, I mailed my registration for Robben's clinic on 8/28, and made the air, hotel, and rental car reservations. And now, finding out that RF is finally coming to Boston. Man, am I ever psyched!

I called the Regent Theater box office this afternoon, and tickets are not yet on sale. Once the shows are posted on their website, then they'll begin selling tickets. I'll be sure to check them out several times a day, everyday!
Also, speaking with the box office guy I found out that ordering tickets through their internet site won't allow you a choice of seats. In other words, whatever comes up as next available is what you get. However, you can get specific seats if you call the box office direct or buy in person. The box office # is 781-646-4849, and they're open Tue thru Sat, 12 noon to 5pm.

I might have been too fast on this one.
On johnny A site there is still no June 3rd Date.
Sorry about that . I hope it will happen.
Instead of Jing Chi i've been to UBER JAM. Scofield with these young guys
, a real powerful band... 1h and a half of happiness. |

I just called The Regent Theater, and tickets just went on sale this afternoon! All seats for both shows are $28. I ordered mine, for both shows (Thu 6/3, 7 & 9:30), front row center (seat A106). Am I psyched, or what! Believe me, I freakin' PSYCHED!!! My first Robenn Ford show!!!
I don't know if I'm going to be able to do any work tonight (I work 2nd Shift)!!!

for all the UK members,
Johnny A is appearing at the Borderline Club in London on May 27th - tickets go on sale tomorrow - its another trek for me (went to RAH last night for Eric Clapton, phenonemal!) - but I think its too good to miss, his only UK show to date I believe, then back to the USA for the rest of his tour |

This being my first time seeing Robben Ford in concert (6/3 at the Regent Theater in Arlington, MA), and being lucky enough to have a front row center seat, I would like to take some digital pictures, no flash. Does Robben mind picture-taking during a show? I wouldn't want to annoy or upset him...
Thanks,

Yes he does mind...I'm not sure, but it may be the flash.
To play safe, try to refrain from taking pix.

One converstation I had with Daved at the last Yoshi's show was that snapping a couple of quick pix without a flash ought to be reasonable but that some folks just sat there going wild with the camera, and weren't they there to listed to the music? Just put the camera down and enjoy the show? If you're playing and you see someone in the front row whip out a camera, it's distracting, and you're afraid they're going to flash you which is even more distracting. Pre-gig set up can be kind of busy but you might be able to catch Daved or someone and clear a couple of quick shots so they would know what was happening. If not, Robben is usually very open to posing for pictures with folks after the shows. At least you'll have the memories of great music. _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

Thanks for the advice. The last thing I want is to be distracting. I will try for a pose with the man afterwards...

This reminds me of many years ago when my grade school aged daughter started playing basketball, and I felt like I had to videotape every minute of every game. So, I taped the first game, making sure that everything was perfect, and after it was all over, I realized that I missed the game. And then, watching the video at home just wasn't the same. That was the last time I taped a game...
