Oh she dropped some not so subtle hints We love you anyway Elizabeth. Thanks for all you do to keep this going, and keep us marginally litterate. All the positive energy, and the lessons on how to get to the front of the stage
Cheers,

OMG!! I just saw this thread....WOW...THANK YOU! Of course I am still celebrating...I am going to see Robben Sunday!!!!!!!
Seriously, thank you all for the e-mails and PMs, complete with some pretty damn cool sound files...YEAH!
Your timing is fabulous...big goofy smiles on my face from all the love you send. I have a few friends who are critically ill, so some good thoughts wouldn't hurt a bit and your positive energy revives me.
Thank you, again, to all my Robben family (I was hoping Robben would call me up and sing to me, but there is always next year, right?) Oh goddddd, I feel older than dirt! (New shoes Kirk? Wowie zowie, Captain!) (And Aeolian, I have to drop SUBTLE hints, or I wouldn't get the shoes, the cake, and these kisses!)
love, elizabeth
P.S. Hey Captain, you could send me a tribble! (ha ha ha ha ha!) _________________ www.elizabethgage.com |

Oops. Boy am I late. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And have fun Sunday. (Hey! No work Monday?? Are you teaching summer school, or actually getting some R&R?)
Speaking of getting older, I think we're about the same age. Earlier today a young associate in our office was talking about some political comments heard from "John Stewart." I assumed that she meant my John Stewart, the guy who toured with the Kingston Trio; wrote songs for the Monkees; lives in L.A.; and is still touring and giving 'em hell out there. (I heard him a while ago at McCabe's in Santa Monica. Whatever my political leanings, it was nice to hear someone talking about the same things that Michael Moore is, except with a lot more logic, humor and insight, and with a great rhythm section behind him, to boot.) The conversation became very confusing, i.e., nothing computed, until this younger person told me that "her" John Stewart is a personality on the Comedy Central Channel. It was with a certain amount of geezer pride that I told her that (except for some live sports events) I don't watch TV, but also with a certain amount of disappointment that she had no idea who "my" John Stewart is. Oh well. ("What? Do you mean to say that Paul McCartney was in a band BEFORE Wings??") _________________ - BlueRunner |

Thank you (again...) I am overwhelmed by these wonderful birthday wishes, although Robben still has not called to sing to me. He might just be too busy, or perhaps my answering machine is on the fritz again. Never have been in control of my appliances.
And no, Blue Runner, I do not work on Monday; I decided to give myself the Summer! (I am so glad I did...I need the R & R desperately.)
I saw Stewart perform last year, in Livermore of all places. He was wonderful.
I am looking forward (sounds a bit odd to say) to seeing Michael Moore's film. My son is away for the weekend, and I promised to wait to go see it with him when he gets back. As with "Bowling for Columbine," Moore's insight is difficult to witness, but vital to know.
I was pleased to read an article last night that said that 54% of Americans feel that it was a mistake to have gone to war. Finally, perhaps some people are going to come to their senses. (All we are saying is give peace a chance.)

Elizabeth , what a great post .
This guy deserved the Palme d'Or, & god bless him , i don't want to see him in a wheelchair like larry Flint........ Whith his movies he does to society the same than Jean Luc Godard does to Film Industry.
Now is this true : ????? In France they say that americans decided not to allow people less than 17 go to this movie ......In case too bad for your son ................ ( But he is very lucky : his mother have a brain & sometime know how to handle it ) |
