She done made me love her and I ain't gonna leave her be
Hey Baby, please don't dog me around
Yeah Baby, please don't dog me around
If you don't quit your fooling, put ya 6 feet in the ground
You should talk to your daughter...(répétez 3x)
She done made me love her and I ain't gonna leave her be

Great song. Originally credited to J.B. Lenoir, I believe. John Lee Hooker did a version he entitled "Mama You Got a Daughter," with these lyrics:
Well mama mama, talk to your daughter for me
Well mama mama, talk to your daughter for me
Tell your daughter that I love her now, I'll do anything I can
Tell your daughter I love her, love her till the day I die
Tell your daughter I love her, I'll love her till the day I die
I want to you to talk to your daughter, talk to your daughter for me
I'm loving that woman, I'm crazy about your daughter
I'm waiting for your daughter, I love your daughter
I love your daughter, tell me what I'll do
I said look over here now mama
Ever since mama, your daughter was five years old
I was six years old, we were going to school together mama
I was a natural born fool for your daughter mama
Mama please talk to your daughter
Tell your daughter I love her mama
I love your daughter, do anything she says
Mama talk to your daughter
Mama talk to your daughter
Tell your daughter I love her
Mama talk to your daughter
Tell your daughter I love her
Mama talk to your daughter for me
I'm crazy about your daughter
Mama I'm crazy about your daughter
Mama talk to your daughter
You know that's your daughter
Tell your daughter I love her
Talk to your daughter, talk to your daughter for me
Mama talk to your daughter [repeat]
Welcome aboard west! Hope to see many more posts from you in the future. And don't worry about your English. We here in the U.S. don't speak it all that well, either. _________________ - BlueRunner

Moi??? C'est incroyable!!! C'est impossible!!! Je sais un tout petit de Francais...
Mais oui, I AM an expert at everything else!
And Westie, I DID find the lyrics on the Internet...
I used the GOOGLE search engine, and searched in the "Groups" section. Lot of lyrics, chord progressions, opinions, etc., can be found in the Groups section...plus lots of dirty little sex stories!
Remember kiddies, if it's on the Internet, it must be true!!!
Sounds like you have the hip blues archives. Mark sang a song the other night called Self Preservation. There's a version of it on the Ford Blues Band Live in Bremenale CD but Andy Just slurs the words so bad I can't figure them out.
Great song with some cool twists to the straight slow 12 bar, and the FBB version has one of my favorite recorded Wedemeyer solos along with some very tasteful playing by AJ. Anyone know where this song comes from? And more important (so I can steal it), what are the words?
Thanks, A _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

"My baby's always talkin' about ... somethin' she knows is right ... most times I even wonder ... does she know the day from the night ..."
Sorry, Aeolian, but my Googling is drawing blanks. I know that the tune's on both the Breninal '92 album and Blue Rock'it's '91 release "Robben Ford and the Ford Blues Band," and I also know that I liked Mark's version from this past Saturday night a bit better than Andy Just's sound on the earlier recordings, but as far as finding lyrics or writer credit on the web, so far it's a big blank. Oh well. _________________ - BlueRunner

I read that Mama Talk to Your Daughter was first recorded on October 6, 1954 by JB Lenoir at Parrot Records. Happy birthday Mama _________________ Travelling by train of thought
