Ok guys...

I just picked up "Get Inside" last night (along with "Talk To Your Daughter" and Ford Bros Butterfield Tribute )

"Get Inside" is great!!! And it sounds FANTASTIC through headphones!!!

JohnnyA sounds more like Danny Gatton than anyone I've heard since, well, Danny Gatton!!!

Anybody else hear the resemblance?

Smile

Andy

I told Johnny A. that exact same thing - that he sounds like Gatton. He says he never listened to him until just recently.....

He sure has the vibe!!! I agree!

Andy,

I just picked up Get Inside a couple of weeks ago and I love it too. Johnny can play the guitar, there's no doubt.

I don't know Gatton's music well so I can't make the comparison. But after this, I'll be looking forward to more from Johnny.

Johnny A. is even better live, in my opinion. And, after seeing him live, I've appreciated his albums even more. It's rare that a day goes by that I don't listen to JA...

Sounds like I ought to be checking out this Danny Gatton guy...

Come on, you must have heard of the great late Danny Gatton!

I reccomend Crusin Deuses for your first listen, and especially his version of harlum nocturne (I think I have spelt it correctly :oops)

just to throw another name to the pile, check out Gil Parris too!

All the best,

DD

...here's where to go:

http://www.dannygatton.com

This great site, maintained by Steve Gorospe, has lots of great info about Danny, including audio and video clips...and you can read about Danny's Magic Dingus Boxes!!!

I was fortunate enough to see Gatton play live several times, and young and dumb enough not to fully appriciate him at the time, but damn, was he ever HOT!!!

Critics sometimes trashed him, but all the great guitarists almost unanimously praised him.

He was certainly one of a kind.
