First off, let me say "hey all!".. it's been a while since I stopped by. Don't have any good excuses.. Glad to see the board is still growing strong!
Now the important stuff!
The show was awesome! Robben is just amazing. His concerts are the best I've ever been to. We got there about an hour early. Just as we walked up to the line, they opened the front doors, and started taking tickets. So, we didn't even have to stand and wait at all! Immediately walked right in and sat in the second row dead center, right in front of Robben and the Dumble cab. Don't let anyone tell you not to sit in front of the cab, cause it was PERFECT. Robben right up front in the mix! hehe
A local blues band, Broadway Phil and the Shouters (www.theshouters.org) opened. I think they played 3-4 songs. They sounded pretty good. Played some nice minor blues, etc... A short intermission to clear off their gear, and Robben and the band took the stage.
They played a great set. The place was almost packed, and full of energy. Robben almost got a standing ovation after EVERY song! hehe Everyone was having a good time. Including the band. Robben was smiling a lot, and interacting with the band.
I just posted a bunch of pics on Kirk's online-discussion photo page. As soon as they are reviewed, I will get them up on this thread. The last one with a bunch of memorabilia from the show, also has the set list that Daved gave me. Along with one of Robben's signature guitar picks. THANKS DAVED! BTW, nice hair cut!
After the show I spotted Anne (Robben's wife), and Tim (their photographer?) and was able to talk with them for a little bit. Mostly just letting them know how much we appreciate Robben coming back to southern Oregon. We were able to see him last year for the Blue Moon tour as well. Anne said Robben likes it here a lot. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the energetic croud.
I brought a old 8x11 promo photo from like '79 for Robben to sign (the pic to the left (my avatar?)). I figured he'd get a kick out of that. It was fun just watching his reaction. Everyone got a laugh out of it. Robben even signed it with a question mark after his signature. lol
It was a great show... I'm still running on the adrenaline from last night I think. heh Only thing I would have changed is, I wish it would have lasted about 2 hours longer!
Shoe report for Elizabeth: old brown cowboy boots IIRC.
I hope you all enjoy the pics. They arn't the greatest. My little digital camera wasn't made to take pictures in the dark. lol After I lightend them up a bit in photoshop atleast you can see SOMETHING now.
