Robben Ford Discussion

I recently picked up a copy of Mood Swing, Bob Malach's debut CD. Some good stuff and a few choice Robben contributions in playing and songwriting (Little Goof is very cool - has RF done this live with Bob?). One tune, Whistle While You Walk, is more Grant Green inspired to my ears (tone and chops) than anything else RF has done. Interesting change of pace really. Nothing amazingly jaw dropping, but a good solid listen. Some swing, some Weather Report-ish stuff, and a couple of tunes with Dr. John that are very laid back. Overall I like his CD, Searcher, better but only because it is funkier and swings a little harder, with less emphasis on synth strings (yuck).
